Land Ordinance of 1785

The Land Ordinance of 1785 passed by Congress on May 20th. of 1785 allowed for the sale of land in the Northwest Territory and set up standards for land sale that became precedents. This map shows the seven ranges first surveyed. These United States History maps are a valuable visual aid in understanding American History.
